Have been devouring over books since childhood and should be really grateful to my parents for inculcating in me the habit of reading. This is a collection of the books I have read over the past few years. The fiction reader in me has graduated now to non fiction. So there might be a great deal of non fiction books in this list. To all fiction lovers ”Truth is Stranger Than Fiction” and more inspiring too.
Books surely can be your best friends: teach you, motivate you and inspire you. So if you haven’t started reading, its never too late to pick up a book. Happy reading! Do share in the comments section, any books you would want to recommend to me. Life is too short to spend over a bad book
. So help me make a wise decision on the book I choose next.

A Case Of Exploding Mangoes by Mohammed Hanif
My Rating: 3/5 My Review: A political thriller with a mix of fact and fiction revolving around the assassination of Pakistani General Zia, A Case of Exploding Mangoes makes for an interesting read. A brave attempt by Mohammed Hanif. |

Countdown by Amitav Ghosh
My Rating: 2.5/5 My Review: More of an extended editorial on the nuclear tests conducted by India and Pakistan in 1998. Provides insights from leaders and common people on the nuclear tests. However leaves a lot to be desired. |

How The Mighty Fall By Jim Collins
My Rating: 4/5 My Review: A perspective on what triggers organisation decline and how organisations can avoid downfalls. Liked the research that compared two exactly same organisations faced with similar problems, and how one succeeded while the other failed. A short book, which deserves a repeat read. Cann’t wait to read some of the other best sellers by Jim Collins. |

The Art Of Choosing By Sheena Iyenger
My Rating: 3.5/5 My Review: In our life make a number of choices, be it major ones like which life partner to choose or minor ones like whether to have Pepsi or Coke. What are the forces that drive our choosing. Does the presence of choices empower one? Are too many choices good to have? Sheena Iyenger explores these and many more questions. Though did not find any ground breaking theories in the book, all of Sheena’s statements are backed by strong research, the way the research studies were carried out is what impressed me the most. |

22 Immutable Laws Of Branding by Al Ries and Laura Ries
My Rating: 4/5 My Review: If there is only one book on branding that you should read, then this should be it. A short, simple, filled with examples account of common myths that brand managers have about branding. While there can and will never ever be laws in the dynamic field of marketing. This is as close as it gets! |
